In this thread you can submit for the contest: "A giant spider - Giant spider - Why does it always happen to me?" Do not forget to read the following rules:

3. Requirements for contest entries
   • The theme is: "A giant spider - Why is it always happens to me?" We count on freely interpretation ofr this sentence, and even reverse the meaning. What matters is the idea and realization of this idea.
   • Entries might be either screenshots, films, drawings or stories.
   • It Is allowed to manipulate the environment for the screenshot or film - preparing the scenography, gathering a sufficient number of monsters / objects / players.
   • It is also allowed to make photomontages, but illegal tools (such as OTS or bots) are prohibited.
   • Maximum amount of words in a story: 300 (around 2000 characters)
   • Maximum length of a film: 3 minutes
   • Screenshots, drawings and films must have pasted TibiaSpy watermark. Prepared watermarks can be find here

Nuno enter Pains of Havoc respawn, then suddenly came 3 giant spiders on him, he went to Red HP instantly and run away.
All 3 spiders looked at me and started taking off my mana shield.
Denk Kytz helped me with one of them.
THe tarantula in top of screen is following Nuno.

Why is it always happens to me ?

I was a young druid, always a little scared but eagerly awaiting the days of great adventure which were sure to come along in my life...
One day, a good friend of mine, a knight, was offering to show me Giant Spiders on the famous Plains of Havoc.
Havoc???? The name alone made me shiver, but I tried to master my fear and said, with thin voice: Ok, lets go!

At first, all seemed to go well and it promised to become a very successful day and maybe i would even bring home a precious Giant Spider Silk...?




My friend offered to show me around and let me see the renown hunting spots on the Plains of Havoc, and I was excited and eagerly followed him, trying to keep up in speed with the large steps my knightly friend was taking.

But then, suddenly, all around me went dark and I felt razor sharp pincers tearing my flesh apart. In a fraction of a second my young soul left the bloody remains of my poor, tortured body, which rested on the mutilated limbs of my dead friend.

We had both fallen into a deadly trap - from sunshine to death.





Many a brave adventurer comes home from hunting Giant Spiders, boasting about the number of silks he has managed to gather from them. And here was I, young and promising druid, dead and wrapped up to rot in the silks instead of triumphantly bringing them home to my village...

Dreadful Past Experiences...



Long has it been, since the awakening of the first known giant spider's on the face of tibia, and long has it been since encounters were fierce, and deadly.. I have but a story to tell of these gruesome experiences, and a figment of what once was, and currently is.. This is my story..


You'll fend off the Giant Spider's in the Plains of Havoc!

Back in my day it was but a privilage to even dream of slaying such a beast, but now it is a reality, and is done daily in groups of adventurer's, or even the lone experienced adventurer's would come in contact and survive without a problem.. Back to the past..


Giant spider's were fierce, deadly, swift and feared above all other creatures in the lands of tibia, even more deadly than the agitated demons of mintwallin.. That is why the weak would not dare set foot on the grounds between the lands of Thais, Venore, and Kazordoon. I once fell victim to the mighty Giant Spider's of the plains of havoc; My curiosity overwhelmed me, and I took advice to, and from my adventurous ego.. This was but a big mistake, as it was the "Mating Season" of the Oversized Arachnids, thus bringing forth a terrible mother known as the "Old Widow", which in our tibian eye's was twenty times more powerful than the dragon's of our ancient time.. I had faced the cruel hand of the beasts first hand, and fell to my knees only seeing black, and red images of my past life.. Grueling, Cruel and terrifying as they might have seamed back then, is not the case now.. As they had developed a serious weakness to their powerful fire abilities, and lost control of their fire power too, now being the opposite they were the perfect means of being reknown as a "Conquerer of the Lands of Havoc"..

Don't let your eyes deceive you, these creatures are overwhelmingly powerful, able to rip you limb, from limb within the time span of a minute.. Take precaution, don't make the same mistakes I did.. Bring friends, supplies, and courage as well, You will need your courage the most, when squaring off against these dreaded beasts of havoc..

Be wise, be strong, and be courageous!

This is a true story related to GS that happened to me some years ago:

I was a happy free account sorcerer level 30 in 2005/2006, when I decided to explore the deepest floors in Ghostland.
Everything was going well until I met the GS, which took me to temple before I could even react.
But I did not give up; I took 1 backpack of Manafluids, 5 UHs and 1 backpack of HMMs and went back to take my revenge.
This time I had a hard fight against the GS, but after using almost all the Manafluids, some HMMs and the 5 UHs... I killed it! The problem was that I had Magic Shield, 2 HP and 2 MP, so I looked for a Manafluid in my backpack as fast as I could (you could not use them in hotkeys) and tried to use it on myself, but I was so nervous that I used it on the floor, next to me... Just after that little mistake I was killed by poison.
Later, some friends who were watching my fight told me my face was white.

But that was just the start of the revenge; last summer I asked Grizzly Adams for the GS task, and I have already killed 405.

Will I win this time?

Since you said we could re-imagine the phrase, I took it a slightly different approach. I had to cut it quite a bit to get it under 300 words, but I think it's still a good take on the subject.

I opened my eyes for the first time and saw the vibrancy and life the world—ah, the trees and shrubs, so luscious and green. I felt a kind of joy that I had been born into a world with so much wonder. I focused my sights ahead of me and saw a man towering above me, nearly as tall as the trees. I started toward him and marveled at the luxury he wore: it was far nicer than anything I could dream of creating myself. His majestic blue robe whipped in the wind as his winged boots carried him away from me. I eagerly followed him, hoping to experience more of this new life. As I followed him into a cave, I felt the oddest sense of déjà vu. It was if I had somehow been here before and I had dreamt of a similar man fleeing into the cave. I instinctively followed the strange man to the back wall. There, the man crouched, whispering strange sounds. Suddenly, the mouth of the cave was covered by a shadow, and the only source of light was a faint red from the rod in the man’s hands. As the shadow loomed closer, I recognized it and exclaimed in joy, “Mama!” My mother approached us, her eyes gleaming in the rod’s light. With each step she took, images flooded my head. Images of this same scene played out repeatedly. I knew with a shock that this was my life, doomed to be repeated. As my mother took another step, I knew what was to become of me. I cried out voicelessly as I faded from the mortal plane, knowing too, the fate of the man behind me. Our souls cried in unison, “Giant Spider, why does it always happen to me?”

And yes, I know the gs looks a lil weird but you'll have to live with that!!

If you don't get the comic, basically what happens is that the player is running from a giant spider but just as she's going to go through a 1SQM passage, the GS spawns a poison spider blocking the way for the player resulting in death.

Myself and my friend not logged on after server save and decided "hey lets go hunting"
after being blowen out at venore dragons we was a little bored trying to decide where else we could go,
then i had a smart idea! POH! 2 knights in poh fighting giant spider that would be easy as hell.
so we set off heading down towards poh as normal, eventuly arriving at the lovley area little did we know there was a supprise waiting for us.
we started our hunt killing off a few giant spiders, then the dragons slowly moving towards the dark cadthedral.
we took it in turns to block the giant spiders to make it fair on our use on pots, as my friend walked further to the right of POH he suddenly started to run back and i thought ok another gs and hes luring it towards me away from the others.
Suddenly!!!
BAM! Huge Posion field bomb goes off under us and i find out its actully the most deaded Giant spider In tibia history "The Old Widdow" !!
as we tryed to run we ran into another wild Giant spider witch didnt really help my friend, there was no point trying to run as her haste was to fast for us and she kept paralizing us, so we started battle!

i wont tell you the ending but ill leave you with a little comment

Jan 10 2010, 11:20:44 CET Died at Level 94 by The Old Widow.

We both died in POH, only to return with a team and we didnt even loot anything nice from her!
That was our epic fail of the day lol

So, a few days ago, I was exploring a bit, I didn't expect to be in the POH just yet, so I went further and further.
Suddeny, I come across a Giant Spider, and it kills me instantly.

Now, I might have an idea why it was so angry with me:
